A big thank you to the guy who owns the cafe near junction 24 of the M1 and the trucker network

Good story, but how much better would the story be, if when you get your new car you go to the truckstop and it had actually been closed for 50 years, now that would be good.

What a great guy! I think the cafe may be on the A453, tend to pass it fairly regularly. Its a popular spot for truckers to stop and also those plane spotting for aircraft on approach to east midlands airport.

Ahh cool, I will drive by to check it out at some point and purchase a butty from him seeing as I'm now addicted to bacon and even had it with some pancakes for dinner tonight :D

One thing though, how far away from work do you live. You said you will have to walk for a few months?

It's only a couple of miles, doesn't take too long to walk it and I'm sure my respiratory system will thank me for it ;)

Cool Story Bro! :) I had a similar experience.

When I hit a bull on the M4 at 1am 2 years ago I thought I was going to die! It was freezing cold and my battery was dead on my phone. Car was smashed up and was smoking everywhere, thought it might blow up. Anyway, 5 minutes later, a truck driver (Sainsburys HGV) pulled over.

He ran towards me and checked to make sure I was ok. Put me in his lorry and called the police / ambulance and my brother. I was in pretty good health, only a few cuts and bruises but was in a bit of a shock. You don't normally see cows / bulls on the motorway at 1am!

Anyway, he really saved me. Few days later he called me and asked if I was all ok etc. Top top bloke! Will never forget it.

:)

There are some nice people out there. Would any of you stop and help a random person who has broken down on the motorway? In the back of your mind you think you should but 90% of the time you just don't as you assume they will be ok.

Cool story bro :)

I think like people have said, it is tough on a motorway when you're going so fast, but it's funny how people are less inclined to do so when it's cold out and your warm in your car just wanting to get to your destination as soon as possible, when actually that's the time the person on the side may need you to stop the most.
