A bug in Avira Safe Shopping Plugin Service freezes Chrome browser

Users reported in various social sites and Chrome help forum that their Chrome browser is freezing or hanging or lagging periodically. Found out that Avira Safe Shopping Plugin is causing the issue, you’ve been suggested to disable it or uninstall Avira until the company fixes the issue, even Google engineer also suggested to do the same.

Antivirus programs do cause problems one way or other by installing plugins in the browser or slow down your browsing experience or using the computer or eat your computer resources by doing unnecessary scanning, here Avira Safe Shopping plugin making Chrome unusable. (LINK)

Avast (free anyway) is the same - unless you do due-diligence when you install .. you get mail shield, web shield, browser cleanup, .......
have not checked if they sell the data these could harvest.

Angry man installs Avira on their computer. Is shocked to later discover that Avira is indeed installed on their computer.
