Hi all,

this might be a forum first, and it'll be pretty cool if it works!
if its not allowed then please just remove the thread, but i couldnt see anything in the FAQ relating to something like this.
As there are so many people on here and there isnt an "art" forum as such i thought i would post my challenge here.

i'm a guitarist - and at the moment i'm rebuilding / redesigning my first guitar as its a lovely piece of wood and i quite like the shape and feel of it.

i want some custom artwork for the front & possibly back of the guitar and as i cant draw to save my life ive been trying to find as many people to help me out with designs as i can!

i have a sort of theme i want for it, which is "fire, metal and sparks" - if anyone has seen the video for "suicide messiah" by black label society, thats pretty much it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RfVVdS3usE)

now this IS a serious challenge, so if any artists out there feel like they want to spend some time drawing a design for it then there will be a reward for the one i like the best - it will probably be worth it for you :p
but having said that some comedy ones with roary wouldnt go amiss ;)

if i choose to use a design if anyone wants to make any then i'll obviously speak more with whoever drew it and develop it, then i'll go to an airbrusher and have them develop it further and spray it.
credit will go to whoever drew it on the back of the headstock.

yeh, its RB CUSTOMS, and the fire he has sprayed on his case is exactly the kind of thing i'm after - but i dont think he's doing spraying for anyone else really at the moment. he's setting up a business iirc.
 
Ill give it a bash if you want, what sort of timescale is this on and when you say metal do you mean the music, or like steel?

sort of an amalgamation of those guitars, but with more form and structure, so say a design with maybe a mask in the style of the ones in the suicide messiah video - that would be a big of the metal proportion.

timescale can be anything in your spare time, i have another guitar that i can use. this one has been out of use since march lol.
 
Most of the central yellow part will be offset by the strings and other guitary things* over the top of it.

* you can tell i'm a musician ;)

raikiri - i quite like the 2nd one actually.

i'm having to simplify this greatly as i totally underestimated how much it was going to cost :eek:
unless i actually have it hand painted by a friend onto the body and then clear coated/finished professionally for £50 (got a quote for that already :p)
but i dunno how that sort of paint would affect the wood.

if i go ahead with a design it'll probably be a cherry red or black base with whatever small design i use (such as the tribal flame idea) in white/black/red what have you.

might be putting one on the headstock :p - tis a bit geeky linking it with my forum name but nobody will know lol.
