A couple from last night

I think they might work better in black and white. You've got some nice detail in the skies for a really good black and white shot with lots of contrast.

I`ll have a go with the b&w idea , I usually prefer colourful landscapes, but I`m always open to new ideas

The horizons are a bit wonky

nah, its just that Carlisle is a wonky area

now I look at them they are a tad out, i never noticed as I was rushing to get them done

on another note, they seem a bit less colourful viewing them online, ive never had this problem before, any ideas what i might of done in photoshop? heh

Nice shots, although I'm still not that keen on that grey / metallic effect that HDR has on clouds. Looks dramatic, but not natural

theyre not HDR mate, the 1st has had a little tweaking to bring out a bit more of the stump

the 2nd has had a bit more done as the tree seemed very dark


heres the same shot with nothing done apart from the auto settings in Rawshooter and CS2(i also leveled the horizon on cs2)

I put it through both as they are producing pretty different results - if anyone knows why?

and heres a B&W conversion - squared up

I`m not sure about the B&W version , if anyone wants to give me a few pointers

The B&W version is cool - did you try playing with the channel mixer though?

All i done was Desaturate in PS then adjusted the levels a tiny amount
I`ll have another play

You need an rim light photoshop edit on the left of the B&W to bring the trunk away from the background. Also i would try to sharpen up the tree line if possible, a little more definition would do a good deal of difference.

The sky looks very cool though and with the sun pushing through the trees it looks very pretty.

they look sharper at full size, maybe a little blur with the wind blowing the leaves though
