Sorry to be a complete numpty but where do I get my Wii friend code from?

Also, I have looked at the news channel and it says I have to do an update to receive it but then when I try it tells me I have the latest one?

Do I have to buy Wii points in stores or is there a way i can pay with my debit card online?

Wii friends code: Go to your wii address book (in the messages bit where you can create a message). It should open up the address book at the first page listing spaces for you to put your friends, you can then go back a page (well left) to display the front cover of the address book which displays your code.

News channel is not available yet.

You can buy wii points in the wii shop which you access from the wii menu. You have to have a visa or a mastercard though.

I've found I can buy points with my Visa Electron and Visa debit card. Doesn't have to be credit card. Maestro doesn't work though.

News channel might appear this weekend.

Yeah, Americans are supposedly getting the News channel this week, so hopefully it'll be available here soon too. How sad is it that I look forward to reading the news?

Me too !!!

Thou i probably won't bother if it looks the same as the web browser since i don't have a LCD TV. Text is all blurry on a CRT TV.
