Hi all

I have two questions for you all to ponder over!

1). Does anyone know of any software which puts a disclaimer on all outgoing e-mails? We run an Exchange 2000 system. The alternative to this is to put signatures on everyone's outlook, but we would prefer the third party software method

2). Has anyone come across any software that automatically copies and archives e-mails as they go through the exchange? I have asked on here before about being able to forward all incoming e-mails to my boss - this auto archive then forward method is something I've been asked to look into (yes, I know about the legal issues behind e-mails being monitored, but could someone let me know anyway? :) )

Thanks in advance!

for me it is at the moment - got lots of problems...won't go into it! Anyways, I just want something that will do what I mentioned - I will let my manager worry about the legal stuff

1. gfi mail essentials is one and the free version does discalimers. My ISP tags our disclaimer to my org's emails, for free aswell.

2. on the IS properties in ESM select archive and choose an existing mailbox to archive to. give whoever access rights to this mailbox, then they can see all mail that has passed through that particular IS. reapeat on as many IS's as required.

Although be carefull, on our 100 users system this eats space VERY quickly.

Also check you exchange AV software for disclaimers. Out Mcafee groupshield adds them on

Ok, point 1 -> As has been mentioned lots of software out there does it. I've used "hexamail guard basic" before (www.hexamail.com) which is an anti-spam package that works with exchange. This will let you filter out spam and at the same time put html signatures on your outbound mail.

Point 2 -> Having all emails run through a specific mailbox is done using journaling in exchange -> http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF011.html

1000 users, have a dedicated Storage group and IS for this purpose alone. Currently capturing approx 1gb of email per day and use exmerge to extract them daily and burn off to DVD.
