A Denby Cast Iron Griddle Pan is about to go on sale - is it the perfect steak pan?

I used to use a griddle pan for steaks and whilst the lines are nice I find a normal pan gives a better 'sear' and finish in general. I think I tried as Ramsey used a standard pan and thought I'd give it a go.

I agree with this, though cast iron griddle pans (Le Creuset, pronounced Crerzay not Crewzay, you moron!) give it a nice almost chargrilled flavour and are also great for chicken breasts.

Mine isn't non-stick as such by the way (in terms of extra non-stick coating), I think they're meant to build up their own non-stick layer.

I managed to get 30" Le Creuset pot on the black friday sale on tuesday for £65 I now have pretty much the whole range. I'd definately recommend them, the thick cast iron makes for nice even cooking.

Might try for the bread maker in 15 mins :)

Was thinking that too. Bugger off :p!

This is turning into talking about a competitor directly but yes, these things are selling faster than hot cakes, including that pan a I watched it go. The few times I've been on the site on the hour mark, all discounted products have sold out within the minute! I really can't understand why people are falling for them, considering the discounts. I think it's more of a ploy to get people hooked. 1 of 10 product will be heavily discounted (Wii for £50, 37 lcd tv with £100 off, etc), but the other 9 will only be by a mere 10-20%. People still think the latter are cracking deals and buying them. Good marketing/advertising/whatever to lure gullible people in.

Your right, most of the deals are crap, theres the odd good one. I think we can talk about Amazon as OcUK still class it as a book shop.
