A desk and a chair recommendation

Getting a new desktop computer, I have a wooden folding chair and a small crappy pine desk with a keyboard drawer. I like to get a desk new but not that interested in a new chair as I find the folding chair fine with a padded cushion or should I stop being cheap and buy one lol. I do like the look of the Steelcase Leap Plus Black Operator Chair but yeah I have come across this:

So I may stay with my oak chair lol.


What desk would you recommend? I really liked the look of the gas operated standing/sitting desk but only can find the base and don’t want to start with DIY stuff.
 
Been looking at more desks and i was thinking of the normal version IKEA MARKUS but heard bad things about it, i would like a desk thats adjustable but not a standing/sitting one. need it adjustable for my folding chair.

depends on your own circumstances I think, my desk had a keyboard drawer designed for it, but I never installed it as I am a really tall bloke(6'6'') so leg room is a problem for me on most seating areas where space is an issue, and dropping my keyboard down an extra 4 or 5 inches would just not work for me.

Also personal preference really, may sound silly, but if you can get to a retail store with some built already then try them out if you can and take it from there even if you buy them online or another cheaper retailer, most flatpack desks that have them don't force you to have them as they are not required in terms of structural stability.
 
Another vote for the GT Omega brand, I got mine just over 4 years ago and it gets a lot of use and a tiny part of the leather had started to split on the base, from where I literally have been chucking myself into it for years (not a small bloke) so I messaged them to see if they could help with the issue and within 2 days they sent me out a brand new and updated design base (part you sit on) and back piece of the chair along with new lumber support and head cushion.

Some of the best customer service I have had from a company. Upon receiving the updated design (much nicer) I found that my old arms on the old chair where of an outdated design and wouldn't fit the new base they had sent me, so I messaged them to ask what I can do and even sent me out brand new updated arms, minus the base/wheel section of the chair I got a whole new chair from them.

Can't recommend highly enough.
