A drug known as "monkey dust" is sweeping across the north of the UK.

It's also known as "bath salts," and has been linked to violent face-eating attacks in the US.

The substance makes people feel strong, and can cause them to act dangerously.

Paramedics and police have been called to scenes where people have scaled buildings and jumped from great heights.

Side effects of the drug include a paranoia, hallucinations, chest pain, and high blood pressure.

Bath salts are nothing new.... been around for a long time. But obviously has made it's way to the UK all of a sudden.

The authorities need to get a lot tougher on drugs in general tbh.

Look how they handle it in Russia, the only country to really have been successful in a "war on drugs". They really hate drugs over there, sentences are harsh and it's just not socially acceptable.

Doing something harmful to combat harmful things, is just going to mean more harm is involved, we've been at war with "drugs" for 50 years, it's clearly a waste of time.

Ultimately education and ethos is what kills drug's not arrests and destroying your life because you had a bit of weed on you 10 years ago.

Dunno about you but I received an education as to the effects of drugs from an early age. Didnt stop people in my class becoming junkies.
