A fallen city..

I would take unspeakable amounts of photographs there!

Many parts of Detroit look normal, maybe quite empty but condition looks normal and nice - The pictures posted are obviously select examples of the crumbling but a lot of the city looks good.

Wow... So the decline of the manufacturing and auto industries was not the main cause for the economic crash in Detroit which meant people moved to find work. Nope, blame the immigrants.

Ignore Kwerk, he chats so much rubbish that its quite funny at times:p

One of the guys I work with is going to detroit for a festival in May and is planning a fair amount of urbex while he's there, I'll link his exploits when he's reported them.

DEMF ? its all corporate now and ticketed with capacity for safety/security ,will still be excellent. the first year they did it in 2000 it was pretty underground and nearly didnt even happen , 1.5 million people showed up...

its really sad whats happened to detroit . especially as it has such a great history.

I love places like this.

Yes its wrong to leave such great buildings to waste, but there is something about them when they are just left like that.

Reminds me of chernobyl.

The rise of unions, followed by socialist government, followed by welfare teet suckers (mostly minorities) is what ruined Detroit. All the productive people (mostly white people) moved away when they saw taxes and crime growing each year.

The place is so knackered they are simply bulldozing large swathes of it.

It is the same story anywhere. Immigrants move in, white people move out.
