No, not heavily cropped, the Heron/Duck have been a little, but the Swans are as shot from the top of the river bank.
The lens is a Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO DG, on a Pentax K10D body. I have been using a Kenko 1.5x teleconverter, which retains AF etc, but I've found I can get better results (especially in poor light) by using the lens at 300mm and cropping slightly or just getting closer to the subject using my 'Car Hide' TM..
I'm still learning this wildlife photography thing, up to now my photography has been mostly landscapes and abstract inner city stuff, but I'm finding it very enjoyable being out and about trying to get near the birds.
