A few light trails shots from last night!

One thing someone once said to me about light-trails...

Light trails should not be the subject of the shot, but used to improve a shot.

I always think that in my head now when I consider doing a shot with light trails, IE: I need to take a decent shot of subject X, can I incorporate some light trails in it to improve it? :)

My 2p :)

Thats an interesting quote and something I will keep in mind in future.

I'm no expert just like light trails :D

Ah mate you and me both :) - Heres the last one I did

It was when I posted that someone told me the above quote, it changes how you think about these shots, I'll get round to taking one using that methodology at some point :D

I had my first go at light trails with my S95 a couple of weeks ago, and I too need to look at the WB, would tungsten been a better choice?

Im also going to think about the whole addition to an image rather than the main image...

It is indeed! I've been meaning to take a shot from there but I wasn't sure how many students/drunk people would be around so I've not bothered. Were there many?

I really like yours and I think it follows the quote above, it's a good shot even without the trails.

I went there at about 1am Monday morning. Was a few drunks around, but they dont see you up there, and most are up north hill :p

check my sig for the last light trail shot i did....

looks good on the sig, but make for a rubbish full sized picture

I got that same advice when I first did light trail shots and it's an important thing to consider.
