Hey,

I'm organising a lads night out in Dublin for about 10-15 of my mates early in July. We're gonna be there for 2 full days and a night, so was just looking for experience from people who've done something similar... firstly are there any nice cheap B&B's which are close to the city centre? And what are the main things to do and see (both during the day and the night)?

Thanks in advance :)

Suman

If you're going in July try and get rooms in the student halls of residence.
They try to rent them out during the summer break and it will probably be cheaper than most B&Bs.
Other than that everything is expensive, take lots of money!

Cool. good idea with the halls of residence :) how much do they cost per night roughly? And how much money would we need each for 2 days (factoring in large quantities of Guiness and food!).

Cheers,

Suman

P.S. Nice teeth... :confused::p

I stayed at Garfields B&B, /very/ cheap and had good availability at the time, nice lady owner aswell.
Walking distance from the centre too.

pounds not euros

Dude we're just gonna go round some bars and drink lots of Guiness... not planning to eat Kaviar off the naked chest of a high-class call girl :p

Not funny to start off with, and makes even less sense now that the IRA has dissolved and N. Ireland has shared power

:p

right cool i dont keep up to date with that sort of stuff, and for the record guiness is minging, i would rather drink magners and thats for girls, your better off sticking to some local irish lagers you might find a really nice one and 2 nights at a holiday inn or something should set you back £100 why not use google and find a cheap hotel?

I was over in Dublin only a few weeks ago and went for a couple of pints on Temple bar. For a pint of the black stuff and a bottle of Bud it was 8.25 Euros thats about £6

As for places to go, I believe the Guinness brewery tour is worthwhile.

Top tip! Outside the airport, I assume your flying? There is a bus which takes you to the main Dublin bus station. The number of the bus was 747 I think. The bus is 6 Euros one way and if you use the ticket machine outside the airport you can get a return ticket for 10 Euros. There is plenty of baggage space on the buses and they run every 15 minutes. A taxi will cost you about 25 Euros for the same trip depending on the driver, of course.

try to get to the library in Trinity college, and see the Book of Kells. There's also the national gallery on Merrion Square. you should also try to fit in a stroll through st. stephen's green - well worth it, and all city centre locations. as for entertainment, there's temple bar, a popular tourist area, full of bars/restaurants, also in the city-centre.

Some friends and I went there for the weekend of st. patrick's day, great craic - as they say - but it can be expensive and very busy at the weekend.

Best Western Royal Dublin Hotel - i stayed there with my gf for a night when we went down to see the killers. Quality hotel with a decent bar and all and if u book early enough its half price, but u cant pull out. Since theres a load of you might be worth ringing up and looking a deal to make it even cheaper. And yes you will need a good bit of money if you want to have a good time. O'connell street is a pretty good central point, littered with bars/shops/club. Make sure you hit the temple bar and think i ended up in some club called flamengo or something which was pretty awesome though i was tanked.

Also the IRA comment = not cool, some people were actually affected by the sectarianism of both sides. Wise up and get a clue

Dublin is obscenely expensive

I went to Magaluf for 2 nights last week and spent £250 and it's massively cheaper than Dublin, spending £300 will be a doddle
