Afternoon, my trusty P4c800E died recently (I think) so I bought a P4v800D to replace it. It can take AGP or PCI-express graphics cards, according to the manual it has a PCI-express x16 (x4 mode only) slot.
What's this x4 mode only business? if I decide to get a pci-express graphics card in the future to use with this board will the choices be limited?

just the bandwidth going to the graphics card, usually 16, but yours is 4, dont worry though 4 is still faster than agp

Thanks for that, I just found an article on THG where they taped up some connectors on PCI-express graphics cards and there was no major performance increase from x4 upwards.
