Trying to install Operating system on new build computer that comprises of.
Antec 300 with basiq 550w psu, Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard,

AMD Phenom II X3 tri core 720 Black edition cpu, ATI 4830 Graphics Card,

Corsair XMS3 4gb DDR3 ram, Samsung spinpoint 320gb sata hdd.

Also has an ide pioneer dvd-rw drive and a maxtor 160gb hdd salvaged from old computer I've gone into the bios and set up the boot order to boot from cdrom but keep getting this message DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER what am i doing wrong.

Select the actual drive from the boot order as oposed to the generic CDROM option. That is what I have to do when booting from mine. Also make sure that your hard drive is set to IDE mode so that it is found by your OS.

Is the drive listed in the CMOS, As said above make sure you have the jumpers set correctly and/or it's on the correct connector on the IDE cable. i.e set to primary and connect the driver to the end of the cable, or set to slave when connecting to middle connector.
