Hi all,

Im looking for a monopod for a couple of reasons, the main reason is that I have started doing a lot of motorsport photography and I intend replacing my sigma 70-300 with the Canon 100-400 L soon.

I also fancy one to give me a bit more stability in places that I can't or wouldn't want to take my tripod.

Your recommendations please?

Thanks

Manfrotto Neotec. It's expensive at just under £100 but it's the only one that I've ever found to be usable. No clips on this 'pod; just pull the leg out to extend it and push it back while pressing a button to collapse.

Makes life so much easier, but you pay for the privilege. Very robust but also a little weighty.

I know I didnt specify a budget but thats a bit to expensive for me right now, I just want something of decent quality that will take the weight of my lenses and the 100-400 which im planning on buying in a month or two.

My Manafrotto 679B ? I think was £30 a few years ago. more than enough for what you require.

That looks just the ticket :)

Thanks
