A Netbook with built in 3G/mobile broadband?

Hi All.

I have been looking at various netbooks over the last few days as my laptop died at the beginning of the week.

One thing I really would like is one with built in 3G so I dont have to have a dongle or usb modem sticking out the side. I search about and come across a lot of sites talking about how certain models are said to have 3G options but I cannot find any sites which seem to actually have 3G options or 3G as part of the standard spec. Has anyone got a 3G enabled netbook? Are they anygood? Or should I just be getting a good netbook and putting up with a dongle?

The Samsung NC10 is available with an embedded SIM for mobile broadband.

Thanks for the reply. Would that mean you would be able to put the SIM from another 3G device in it? Like from my Vodafone 3G modem or would it only be one that was in it when I bought it?

I am having the same problems, i was told the NC10 and NC310 have the option but where to buy and how it works is beyond me

Although I don't have a netbook with embedded SIM, I would expect the SIM to be physically swappable in it, just as you can remove a SIM from the USB modem sticks. Whilst physically I expect you could remove it, whether a netbook would be locked to a network like a phone I could not say.

Hi

The sims in netbooks are swappable. So if you want to put in your sim from your modem stick part way through the month you can do this.
