Hi all
During this summer, after they finish their exams, my brother and his friend Matthew will be walking the entire Ulster Way. This equates to about 1000km and covers the whole of Ulster, north and south of the border. It will take them 6 weeks and they are planning to do this continuously until they are finished. They are both well prepared and are getting equipment help from a few local sources, but if anyone was able to provide more I'm sure it would be appreciated.
They are doing this walk both to achieve being the first people to successfully walk the whole of the new Ulster Way continuously, and to raise money for charity. The charity that they are raising money for are called Headway. They work with people who have suffered brain injurys from all kinds of causes. A motivation that my brother Simon had was when my mother was taken ill with a brain tumour, and during her last year she received a lot of help from the organisation, both providing care and support alongside other cancer charities and also providing the family with help on how to deal with the loss of brain power that she had. They are a fantastic charity.

I would ask any of you that can to donate to this worthwhile cause, and my brother and his mate will be doing a blog and regular updates, through a local paper and probably on their own, so I will be able to keep you all updated as it progresses. Also there will be a chance for all of you that have never been to Ulster to see photographs of the fantastic country that we have over here and some of the sights that are both on and off the beaten track.
The website for donations is: http://www.justgiving.com/ulsterwaywalk
My thanks to you all, and I will bump and update this thread as they near the start of their walk.
