A question for the educated (in the US)

I'm not one to boast so I won't. I'd be working a lot harder and for many more years in UK to get what I have right now in USA. It's honestly an excellent quality of life.

kwerk - life is what you make of it and I'll leave it at that.

I do however really miss my friends from home. There was a point in my life where I said that I'd rather die than not have any of my friends. At the moment it feels like life has given me everything except my friends.

That part is sad but I'm really happy.

Ann Arbor - really pretty and some well equipped colleges/universities if you can't find something there I'd be suprised.

Yeah, that's the thing. PhD's are supposed to be hard... But then most of the PhD's I know work nowhere near the 12 hours a day every day... More like for a couple of months every year (usually when they reach a deadline). Obviously they do do work in between as well .:p
