My fronts are getting pretty low on the mondeo ST24, currently have 215/35/18, would I see much ride improvement on 45 profile tyres?

At the moment with the 35 profile I get absolutley no scrubbing even with a car full of people, if I up the profile to say a 45 would there be chance of scrubbing?

Thanks

18's are too big for a Mk2 Mondeo really, it was never designed to have such wheels and you need ridiculous profile tyres to keep the rolling radius right, there is a reason Ford kept 17's for the ST200.

In theory yes 45's will improve the ride comfort but the tyre size is wrong for the car.

I know, I know and am really regretting it. Especially now I only use it for commuting it has a really harsh ride :(

Found some 215/45/18 Falken ZIEX ZE912 for £50 a corner. Thought that was a good price, and reviews are not so bad really.

It's the 452's that are the good Falcons.

You cant buy good 18 inch tyres for 50 quid a corner. Heck you can barely buy good 16 inch ones for that!

Normal prices for the above tyres are around £120 a corner after looking on various websites, getting them at mates rates.

£120 is not normal price for a 912, they are cheapo tyres. Mates rates doesn't mean your mate will flog you tyres at below wholesale price unless he owes you money :p

Get 452's.

Probabally aquired them some other way then if that is below the wholesale price!

Just looking into the 452's, seems that they are very good value for monies. Thanks

hmmm could probabally get away with it not rubbing, had some 225 profiles on the last alloys and they were fine.
