A.R DRONE :D Looks fun

A couple of vids on youtube of that at CES.

Looks cool but can't think what I would use it for. And they haven't released any info on the price yet. :o

Sorry to bring up an old thread, just woundering if anyone got one? thinking of getting one for a little fun in the time off over xmas.

looks cool but think it's more something to go somewhere and test out/play with rather than spend £300 on, especially as you need 2 of them to actually make full use of them.

I take it this isn't out yet?

Otherwise I'd imagine it would be right up there on the Gadget Show's top Xmas present list or something!

It is out, available on the high street. It's definitely something for indoors - it's very light and can get buffeted very easily. But the control via iPhone works well - reception permitting.

had a play for one as got it for my Dad for his birthday - its good but has some rather disturbing bugs - ie it has a glitch where it goes into a max rate climb and disapears until out of range, then drops like a stone (luckily my dads landed in a tree about 500m away and was found undamaged).

It is great, but you need at least an iphone 4 as older models stutter and have lag. In principle it is amazing and the tech is good - just a few new gadget problems.

space cowboy - apart from the disappearing it works well outside and can handle a fair amount of wind

I have one of these - they are out. Cost about 300 quid.

Great toy to play with. Works on an ad-hoc wifi network between you and the unit. Works great in doors, and is pretty flexible outdoors too unless there's a lot of wind.

Big downside though - the battery lasts about 10-15 minutes tops. This sucks.

Still, I've had it for a month and keep playing with it.

It isn't at all annoying for people when they're trying to watch telly :D

That is just cool, as soon as money becomes no object for me and I'm obscenely rich (never) it'd be the first thing I'd buy!
