Signed up for this today and my first film has already shipped :)

Basically you only have to put a minimum of 4 films in your list.

I have signed up for 4 credits *£7.96* (paid via visa card) which allows me 4 films.
When and only when a film is shipped have I used 1 credit.
So in theory if you waited 1 day or 1 year for a film you wouldn’t be billed a monthly subscription such as £9.99 a month like “lovefilm who” incidentally owns this new service.

The package I have chosen is best suited to me because I am happy with one film per week. I.e.- I like a film for the weekend and also there’s a couple weeks were no new films are released that I want to see and with my old package I had to carry on paying my monthly sub and feel forced into picking films I didn’t really want to see.

Looks like you can keep the film for one day or one year for example and still only be charged £1.99 per title. Soon as you send a film back your next title is shipped.

Packages available are below or follow the link at the top of the page:

1. £7.96 for 4 credits. Rent 1 DVD at a time
2. £13.93 for 7 credits. Rent 2 DVDs at a time
3. £19.90 for 10 credits. Rent 3 DVDs at a time

Just thought I would highlight this new service for people getting a little tired of the usual current rental service deals.

So whats stopping someone renting a film, and then never returning it?

I'm using LoveFilm at the moment as they sent me a 3 months for the pice of 1 offer. They also send out games pretty quickly.

sounds like a good idea. I'm currently using LOVEFILM which i mainly use for 360 games, doesn't look like this one does them.

Im with them too. Ive got loads of 360 games in my queue, yet to get one, ever :/

Might contact them, Ive got to lovefilm, via DVD365 and Screenselect via various mergers/buyouts. Perhaps my subscription got mashed up along the way.

DVD rental is everywhere now.

I suspect that is what the subscription is for. I reckon they make several times the money a DVD is worth every time they take a payment. And if you are a serial DVD thief they just stop your service.

Thats expensive, best one is Screenselect. I been using them for months only problem is I paid for an 8 month subscription in one go because it was a special offer then I didn't order any dvd's for 2 months so kind of wasted 2 months :o I plan to make up for it though. When I am getting dvds I get as much as possible so usually at least 15-20 a month. Non- special offer prices are £15 a month I think and you can get 3 at a time with a 3 day turnaround (sometimes 4). With my 8 month thing I got £13 a month I think, also theres usually the first month free for new customers. They do 3 month free vouchers too, I got like 2 of them but sadly didn't know anyone that wanted to sign up and didn't have a 2nd address/name to use with it :p

Geeza- Sending the DVD back is really easy as the envelopes they send you the DVD's in are the same ones you use to send them back (for free).

Well as you can see from my opening post it's not more expensive for me and it's also more Convenieint for me.
I have been with screenselect/LoveFilm for 2½ years.

Please note that if you continue to hold any DVDs when all your credits have expired (90 days from purchase) you will be charged for a new batch of credits
Hmm, subscription in disguise tbh.

I'm with lovefilm (was with screenselect, then they merged them together) and i have periods of time when I don't rent any at all and then months when I get through pretty much as many as I possibly can...

when you sign up there is a box to tick so you can't be charged for extra credits.

doesn't sound great to me, aren't the other ones pay a fixed amount and watch as many dvd's as you want. Price plan then decides how many you can have at the same time.

Suppose if you only watch a couple then it might be better.

yes but in reality on a 1 DVD at a time package (more expensive for me) you can only have as many dvd's as possible that royal mail can deliver.

you send a film back on the monday. another one doesnt get dispatched until the wednesday. then "IF" you watch the film on the wednesday night you post it back thursday and it gets back to them saturday. then your back to square one of sending the films back like the previous week.
it worked out on my current package of £9.99 a month i was paying £2.50 per title but this new way i am only paying £1.99 per title.
but its not just a 50p saving. i only have to put 4 films in my list. my old package you had to pop about 15 films in your list and end up beeing sent films you dont want because the top films get sent to some GOD on another plant, well that's how it felt lol..
