Hi everybody,

I require some assistance from people who know what they are talking about!

Basically I will be buying a 32" tv for my bedroom, and I have a lot of videos, looking at about 1TB of video files and I would like to use a standard HDMI connection to connect the two. The tv will be 1080p so its just easier resolution wise.

I might play some games occasionally but very rarely so something capable but cheap would be good.

I also listen to a lot of music. So I will be ripping my cd collection into FLAC and eventually buying a DAC to join my amp that I already have so a sound card isn't needed but a decent amount of HDD space is.

This is a spec that I came up with, I'm not sure if its any good, so change away!

I would like to spend under £750 in total, inc delivery and including Windows. I thought 7 would be the best one to go for even though I have never used it.

For basic usage I doubt I will find it THAT much of a difference between Vista and 7.

Anyway, my spec

Is there anything that you would change?

Also is it possible to make it run quite cool and quiet?

Thanks very muchly

You can get an i7 rig for that money if you don't mind going for a 512Mb 4870 and antec 300 instead:

This would offer you more longevity but other options would be either a phenom II or i5 rig which would work out slightly cheaper.

Thanks guys.

Fluffmyster your second spec seems pretty good!

I have 2 HDD's which are currently doing nothing. A 500Gb and a 320Gb. I also have a WD My Book 1TB.

What i might do is take the HDD out of the my book and use the 320GB as the HDD's in the computer itself.

Then use the spare 500GB one as an external HDD, just need to buy an enclosure.

Does anybody see any problems with that? I would save myself £60 and get a fair amount of space!
