A time you've lied and had to apologise...

A curious thread, but I came across this interview question recently. I assume it's to test an overall honest nature, and I am sure that I have lied many times when I was younger but I cannot think of any single example...

Can anyone else think of how they would answer this?

I dont think ever realy, I mean I aranged a suprize party for someone and lied to them about what was going on... but that hardly counts as a full blown lie, its just to keep the suprise, I have never lied to anyone realy, and never had to say sorry

i wouldn't lie in an interview, if they saw that i could lie on the spot then they might be a bit concerned that the rest of the interview was a lie?

Perhaps I should just say I used to work as an estate agent, and after quitting felt the need to apologise to each and every one of my customers...

i am agreeing with all the posters here in that i cannot think of a time i have lied and apologised for lying later. There are some things you remember for being important, and these situations are obviously unimportant too many of us.
