A Touch of Cloth

Thought it was quite good, lots of small stuff you could easily miss if you're not paying attention.

It highlights many of the reasons i don't like these kind of crime shows, the slow pace and serious drama style i find to be very boring and i can't understand why there are so many.

They could easily do a medical one as well, they have just as many reasons why i don't watch.

Loved this, look forward to seeing more. Yes it was very Police Squad but that is good!

Lots of visual gags, for some reason I laughed myself silly when they were in the hospital and the direction sign behind them pointed to (amongst other things) the Hattie Jaques Ward!

turned off after 5 mins. utter tripe and so contrived and forced. it actually felt very painful. odd as i like brooker as a writer and when he is on panel shows etc... shame.

i watched the whole thing but felt exactly the same.

It went from 3 funny puns being, funny, to every single line being so forced and painful. It was almost the same joke start to finish, the 438th time it just wasn't funny any more.

A semi real show as a well written comedy with characters taking the pee out of politics/police/chavs/etc would have been done well and I can see Brooker writing that show brilliantly. What we got was a show that was a spoof of cop shows, but as terrible as ALL the spoof films we get are.

Here's a hint to the guys who make spoof comedy.... we get the cliche's they aren't subtle in the real versions of the show, pointing one of them out once is slightly funny, making a show based on it.... isn't funny at all.

It felt less like Brooker, who I usually like a lot, and closer to, well, all the other tripe comedy we get in England.

Got to say I agree with Realbabelfish & Drunkenmaster.

I tried to like it, watched the whole first episode, but just found the comedy forced and not that funny.

Oh well.

This.

Attempted to watch this yesterday evening. Honestly don't get how most of you think it was funny. It was very very weak. No one had any comedy timing, lines were delivered like the news, and every joke fell flat.

After 20mins the Mrs and I just couldn't take any more and switched it off.

Police Squad/Hot Shots it aint, and anyone comparing those classics to this rubbish wants their head examined! :|

It's produced by Sky.

Really enjoyed the second series, I think I preferred the first one a bit more as it had a few more clever jokes rather than completely in-your-face ones, but they were also different styles so it makes sense. The attention to details is ridiculous too, so much stuff in the background you can easily miss, if you're not watching in HD you probably can't even read or see most of it.

Looking forward to the third one with Karen Gillan, although it's weird that it seems to take Sky so long to actually broadcast it because they second series was finished a year ago and they were already working on the third at that point.

I loved the first series but the first episode of the second only had me giggling. I was a bit apprehensive about the last episode but watched it last night. Glad I did, I thought it was back on track. The scene where Oldman wakes up and gets out of bed in the nude - that body double had me almost crying with laughter!
