hey guys does anybodie know how to get the hdmi sound working on this motherboard ive downloaded all the drivers from abits site but when i try to install the hdmi driver it says no compatible audio driver found.

Im running 32bit vista by the way

You need to check if the audio controller is correct. By defult the sound will output through the realtek HD audio. You need to make the ATI HDMI audio driver is installed and selected as your primary windows audio device.

I presume you work for Abit then?

If i install the Catalyst 7.6, do i still need to install the HDMI driver seperately?

I have the HDMI jack showing and selected, but still no sound output, going to try updating the drivers. Its not entirely clear what drivers are needed to have this board up and running and it seems the abit site doesnt have the latest ones.....

7.6 drivers solved the problem, despite the HDMI jack being installed and recognised by the base vista drivers.

Thats good to know.
Version R162 of the ATI HDMI driver is on our website but the latest version can be found on the realtek site.

But as you mentioned the VISTA defult drivers work as well.

Thats the thing, the vista default drivers didnt work, although it recognised the hdmi jack and installed it, it wasnt outputting sound.

Doesnt matter now though, all sorted!
