Wanna really OC my 3000+ venice and get the most, so should I get a Abit Fatal1ty AN8 SLi or Ultra-D DFI? Which are the most stable with OC's. I know the DFI's are real popular!

Would be appreciate some help on this :)

The DFI are true monsters when t comes to overclocking , and can be 100% stable.

Flakey usualy overclocking means you have gone to far, or not configured right. Its not common for ppl to run flakey systems just because they are overclocked.

The DFI was very nice to configure and there are loads & loads of guides to help getting the most out of all the various brands of memory out there too, along with a whole array of BIOS's and threads with screen shots of how other ppl have set them up.

It actually might be a lot closer than you think as the AN8 SLI can probably get real close to the DFI's performance although it doesn't have as tweakable a BIOS.
The DFI will probably be cheaper though which makes it better value.

yh I could get a Ultra-D second hand for about 60ishh, while the Fatal1ty board will pobabaly be around the 70-80!

I originally had the Abit AN8 Fatal1ty SLi

It would clock my cpu to 2640 and wouldnt be stable after that, it wouldnt even boot past 2.7 !

I put the DFi Board in, and went to 2805 Mhz straight away :D

Amazing Board, the voltage options are a bit fiddly though :p

Sick of my unreliable Asrock board :( wish I'd paid good money to start with and brought I sturdy board that is stable!!!

Just ordered the DFI Ultra-D (this week only) as I have heard good things about it!!

With my spec below do you think overclocking my processor to 2.5+ stable is possible??

Can't get past 2.1 ATM which is why I'm roasting the Asrock in favour of the DFI!!!

Anyone care to comment please? ;)

Most X2 3800's do atleast 2.5 :)

Ok thanks, can someone point me in the direction of a good overclocking thread for these boards so I can familarise myself with it before it arrives :D

Thanks..!!!

From experience are these boards easy to set-up and overclock?

I know must have the things that need to be done, but the Asrock was a bit of a handful and very unstable even after a volt mod!!

I can see you can up the V-core and also memory volt too!

Wasn't difficult to set up and overclock.

Only thing i find confusing is the voltage options for the cpu,

You can set 1.5 volts and then a percentage to go over.. so you end up with 1.6 volts,

it confuses me and takes me ages to get the correct voltage,

Other that that its ace :D
