Hi peepz, can i have any opinions on this board as im about to build another pc.
Im not an 'overclocker' as such and mainly into gaming although use a few appz such as P/Shop.Maya..etc.
My last build was a AMD FX 53 , and im not 'in the know' with the latest offerings but after reading a few reviews i ordered :

Case: Antec P182
CPU : Intel Core 2 Quadro Extreme Edition QX6700
Mobo: Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce 680 (Socket 775)
PSU : Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGA1000EWL

(yes i know it might have been wiser to ask opinions before ordering... clips himself round the ear)

Is there any probz i might run into with this set-up?

What memory would you guys reccomend ?

Like all 680is it's still a work in progress but it should be fine at stock though.

There seems to have been a few problems with Enermax Galaxy PSUs & various 680i mobos but there appears to be a revision to the pSU available if need be & Enermax support seem to be on the ball.

As for memory probably the best place to ask for recommends is the abit-USA forum.

If you're clocking the quad you want either:

  • EVGA Rev2 <- important 680i board (will get you highest FSB it seems)
  • 965 board, seen DQ6 from gigabyte take quads high.
  • RD600 can take quads high, seen 460FSB due to the GTLREF voltage options. Yet this board is hit and miss and only exists in the form of DFI ICFX3200.
Although you do have a xtreme (unlocked multi) processor.

K thanks guys.. ill look into the poss probz with the PSU and will be running this set-up stock so hopefully the mobo will be fine...touch wood!
