Can anyone tell me the main difference between these 2 boards, i've looked and cant say i can see much. ?

Weres my extra 40 quid going ?

uGuru
2nd physical x16 (x4 electrical) PCI-E slot
2nd gigabit LAN
2x eSATA ports
different chipset cooling
onboard power & reset buttons plus external clearCMOS switch
all solid caps instead of just the most important ones
slightly richer BIOS

Oh! thanks :) Ill look into that, what are these like to clock a quad then say the Asus P5K Premium?

I've not tried the P5K Premium.

But the IP35 pro is good with the quads, the only problem is that pwm temps can get really high for some...me included. But their is a simple bolt mod you can do or you could just stick a small fan over the heatsink. The problem arises because the heatsink on some boards doesn't make proper contact with the mosfets. But it's easily solved.

Q6600 @ 3.4 here. Average temp: 57c. PWM 60c, bios vcore 1.4050. This cpu will go to 3.5 but I have to stick a lot more on the vcore and it takes my temps higher than I would like, for the 0.1Ghz gain.

Is that as far as your Q6600 will go on that board? Ive got my QX6700 @3.6 on my P5B I would think the IP35 should be better at clocking quads? Ive got a choice between this and the P5K Premium Wi-Fi edition, would you guys recommend this over the Asus?

/Appologies if this has gone a bit OTT :)

A lot of it will come down to individual CPUs.
Remember though that he has a Q6600 with a max multi of 9 whereas yours is unlocked so can run lower fsb.
Given that why do you want to change atm - there really isn't a massive performance difference between 965 & P35?

Yea true I didn’t factor the unlocked multi, I was told and by looking at reviews etc, the 965 chipset is rather poor at clocking quads but mine seems to fair well, a newer chipset and board design is also a nice change.

As Buff said you have to factor in the unlocked multiplier, there is no FSB limit for you so it doesn't really matter, even 975X would prolly clock ok with a QX.
