About to start first build, few questions

Forgive a novice for butting in here, but you did switch power off prior to removing or inserting ram I take it.

I'll keep out now. Let these guys who know what they are doing help.

Your system doesn't boot with all ram modules in? When you take one of them out it works? Try using the ram module in other sockets, and different ram modules. Could be a faulty ram module or a borked board - if it doesn't boot with one of the sticks in..

Try one of the ram sticks in each of the slots, then the other one. Then the pair. If it boots with one of the sticks in all slots you have a broken ram stick. If it doesn't boot with either of the sticks in any slot you might have a broken board.

Could also be a short somewhere, or something else. I'm not sure.

Assuming it's a new one you should probably have warranty on it, but seeing as it is your first build there could be another issues somewhere else. Also, you booted without any ram sticks in? Granted it's been a while since I built my last computer, I think that normally would give errors. Do you have a speaker plugged in to your mobo? It should beep if you don't have any ram installed (I think).

will check tomorrow
what do the beeps mean?
going to sleep now, gonna sleep it off haha, half day at college so will be home early to work on this again,
night! :)

righttt,
was looking in the mobo case, and theres a cable, has 20 or 24 pins (at a guess) and its a wide thin wire, it looks likes lots of wires all be glued side by side, all parallel.
only a half day at college,

will try a breadboard, (anyone tried that before?

About to get home from college, grr if this don't work someones getting hit..
Haha actually I'm probably just doing something really basic, wrong....

Just to try and confuse us even more, the OP has now started a new thread here on exactly the same topic!
