About to swap my monitor for a samsung 32" via hdmi 2, what res etc do i need to do..

I'm about to swap my screens over, just got my samsung r87 from a place. What do I need to do with my PC before switching screens as I don't want to have to switch back because of issues on res etc. I'm going to connect via dvi to hdmi.

set it to 640x480 or 1280x720, guarenteed to work, then when it's plugged in start upping the resolution until it looks best. 1360x768 is probably as good as you'll get (1:1), not sure if you'll need a custom program to set that res though.

my 26" runs on 1368x760.
