Anyone have one? I was thinking of buying one for Photoshop/work and of course the odd game (I play games like CS, Bioshock, Command and Conquer and so on).

It don't seem bad from the specs, but I know little to nothing really on monitors.

I will also use it for films/movies to, as I only use my PC or 360 as a DVD player...

I have dual 20" monitors ATM. I have a Dell 2007WFP and a Phillips 200WS (I think thats what its called at least).

Was going to nuke the phillips and have the 24 and the dell, and use the philips some place else...

BenQ, Samsung and Dell are my personal favourites, I've had one Acer monitor and it was alright, but comparing it with my current BenQ and god the colour is so dull and the brightness fails in comparison.

I have heard bad things about acer monitors, colors are appauling apparently especially for the cheap 24" model, i would recommend getting a dell/lg/samsung , some things your better of getting the better brand, ie power supplys, monitors.

Hi there

OcUK only stocks the Acer 24" to meet a price point, however its not a monitor we recommend as generally the quality is average or below average.

Well, I will take your word for it (and the general thoughts of other people in the thread) as I mentioned in my original post, I don't know much about monitors (never really bothered to research them truthfully).

What do people think of:

Samsung SM-245B 24" OR

Should I just go for the Dell 24" ?

I am trying to decide on if I should get my monitor first or get a new GPU, as I currently have a 8800 GTS 320MB, I guess I could just play at 1680 still for the time being, and then pay day grab a 8800 GTX or something.

At least I will have a nice shiny monitor to enjoy movies and stuff on?

think brad from eastenders the other day was on his pc and he had a giant TFT panel.... think it was the 24incher acer too.

Proberly got it on da cheap too, for around £260 its not so bad but the sammy 24inch on special offer PS much better weekly offers this week ! the sammy is looking a better deal.

Looks a right bargain to me (on paper), finally 24" are becoming affordable.
When I got my 22" (around 9 months ago) you had to shell out £400+ for a 24" which was way out of realistic price range for most people.

Obviously the Samsung at around £70 more offers another option but I reckon plenty of people will pick one of these up given the price, mediocre reviews or not.
