I'm looking at new netbook.

These two seem to be the most powerful netbooks ( to be coming out in the next month) what are peoples thought on them.

Will they be much faster than the mini 311?

The CULV SU4100 is a lot faster than the N270/N280/N330, for that reason alone I'd prefer the 1810TZ.

I've just upgraded from an EEE901 (it had 2 gig ram) to an 1810tz. I got the Olympic edition 1810tz which only has 2gig ram but has bluetooth and is a really nice silver colour (and the brushed metal look does NOT attract fingerprints). Upgraded to 4gig ram. All in, cost me just under £400 here in Malaysia.

I don't know if it is the extra RAM, the CULV or Windows 7, but it honestly looks and feels about 10 times faster than my previous atom netbook. It feels as quick as a mid range desktop in doing most tasks. The keyboad is really great and easy to type on. The mousepad is a little small if you compare it to say a macbook, but it has some clever features such as accellerated dragging (so if you reach the end of the trackpad the file you are dragging keeps on moving in the same direction).

The dual-core CPU makes a big difference. I can unrar a large movie (takes seconds instead of minutes on atom), copy files from an external HDD and watch a 720p movie without it jittering at all.

With wifi on and power settings down, I don't get the claimed 8 hours, more like 6-7. But with wifi off and screen turned down etc it goes up to 9-11 hours.

The 11" size is fantastic. I thought it might be a bit small but having used it for 5 days now, it is honestly the perfect sized laptop. It is light enough to use while holding with one hand.

The glossy screen has not been an issue for me, infact things look much clearer and the screen is bright enough that you don't notice the glossy screen at all.

My one gripe is that sd cards seem to stick out a little from the slot so I probably won't leave it in, but there is no need now since this has a 320 gig HDD (in reality its around 280 when you get it as the os installation files are on a hidden partition).

I can't express just how much happier I am at the speed of this compared to my old netbook. It was 18 monts old and I'm sure the 1210N is a little faster, but I don't know if it can come close to comparing to the 1810tz.
