Activsion kills guitar hero

I thought it was known ages ago that WoR was going to be the last guitar hero?

I bought WoR but only because it was in a one day sale for £19.99 so i can understand why they are dropping the brand

Also, who the hell would pay £60+ for the Warriors of Rock guitar bundle? I mean, have you SEEN the guitar?! What a piece of crap. If you didn't already look a bit of a dick playing a plastic guitar in the first place they bring out this stupid thing that will ensure you look like the saddest geek on the face of the planet. At least the old ones were actually loosely based, appearance wise on real guitars. I was actually thinking of buying the GH3 bundle as I've only got the PS3 version of the Genericaster (lol) here and it doesn't work on the 360.

I was gutted abou this, but Rock Band has gone much further and GH was just rehashing old crap.

Rock band now have keyboard, pro drums and a REAL GUITAR (great idea if you ask me!) no way Guitar Hero could keep up by just releasing new games with a bunch of new tracks and a lame story.

I'd probably be upset if, for the past almost 2 years, they'd put any real effort into the tracklists and DLC.

The music in the GH series, and even Rock Band at the moment, has just gotten worse and worse over time. That's why it's failed... the appeal hasn't run out at all -- I still have Rock Band/Guitar Hero parties as often as I can -- but when the track lists are as dire as they've been offering, there' just no incentive to play.

Its the crap somgs that killing the games, nothing else.

Put great songs on there, people will buy them simple!

Agreed, RockBand has gone the same way. Drivel for the most part and the proof of the pudding is in the sales. Rockband3 sales were so poor I can't see it lasting much longer.

They assumed the GH sales in this country were so bad because they were waiting for RB3. How wrong they were, people are just bored of the format in the main.

Don't see why there is critism for dumping a game that no longer sells and milking it when it does sell. Welcome to the business of making money.
