Possible to add fan to Noctua NC-U6 Dual Heatpipe Northbridge Cooler?

Hello guys

Been starting to get weird lockups on my system which I'm guessing is down to either 3 things. Not enough juice to CPU and NB, 1T command rate on my ram or overheating NB.

I have swapped out the default cooling on my P5Ne-SLi to Noctua NC-U6 Dual Heatpipe Northbridge Cooler which seems to do a helluva lot better job than the stock heatsink.

But I was thinking of adding a fan to it. Has anyone done this? What kind of fan would fit this heatsink, I see there is grooves on the heatsink which seems to suggest you can add a fan onto it with the correct retention mechanism. Where would I be able to buy one of the fan retention clips?

Sorry for so many questions, hopefully some one will have tried this before or has some ideas.

I will change the voltage and command rate when I get home from work, but I still think added cooling could help as it still gets hot and if the weather gets hot again...

variety of solutions have been brought up form what i remember, couple i can remember :

an 80mm fan with cables ties to hold it on

attach a fan to the back of you're graphics card if its directly behind the cooler.

I was hoping for some nice looking rig not some jury riggin ala Millenium Falcon in Star Wars.

Ill have a scavange through my spare part drawers see what I can find sure I should have some 80mm fans, just need to "borrow" some cable ties from work. Might even have some voltage lowering cable extensions to take down the RPM and noise.

Well the temp in the bios usually sit around 40-50 degrees, but my old antec case got these temp sensors which i used one on the nb and it goes up to like 56, so not sure what to trust.

I just think with my CPU cooler being a tower cooler I dont get enough airflow round the NB to get the heat away. Hence me wanting a fan on the NB cooler.

Think I have found the cause of my problems....

Its me damn UPS, seems I could try and get new batteries for my old trusty SMART-UPS 1400 which seems to cost about £99  or I might invest in some cheaper new UPS as I do like the line filtering to ensure no over volting etc.

So hooked up my pc to the mains so guess I will see if that has cured my problems.
