Adobe 8 and Vista - Large Image sizes

Evening all,

Before I moved from XP to Vista I was quite happily scanning all of my 'important' documents on my Lexmark 8300 series at 300DPI and getting 300/400kb files out of the Adobe 6 PDF printer.

Now I've had to get Adobe 8 because its the only version that works with Vista and I'm getting 17mb files out of the other side!!!!!

Over the last few weeks I've put in many hours trying to figure out how to get my small filesizes back to no avail and now have a small mountain of paper on my desk awaiting scannage.

Any suggestions?

Sounds as if there is no compression being applied to the output image. Check that the image is a compressible type e.g. .jpg or is the same as previous versions.

According to the Lexmark scanning app, I'm printing directly to PDF. When I did this on XP it printed via the PDF printer.

Looks like something else Vista has ballsed up tbh
