For info folks : Adobe has just officially launched Camera RAW 4.1 and it contains some very significant improvements to :

Sharpening
Noise Reduction
Colour fringing controls

Clarity - A new tool designed to improve mid tone contrast to your image

It ads RAW support for the D40x as well. Just waiting for the support in Lightroom now.
