Ok, so some may know that I was looking to buy a car as I need one for work and as such passed my driving test just 2 months ago. Earlier this week I bought a Pug 306 HDI which is lovely and have done over 800 miles already! Anyway, down to the nitty gritty - I was looking for insurance and was generally getting online quotes of around £750 FC for my address in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Now earlier today I went online, used Confused and it was coming up with quotes from £600-£1900  I chased a couple of the quotes up and they werent really coming thru with the goods altho I was told to try a company called Adrian Flux. They asked me what I had been quoted so far and I said on average £650. They replied offering me £645 which I thought was fairly average and moved on. It was then however that I realised I had forgotten to mention to them that I had pass plus and rang them back to enquire. They said they would take it into consideration and as such knocked the quote down to £545. I was gobsmacked and signed up there and then - all day no-one had even got close to that ballpark figure. As such I have now got me a V Reg 306 HDI with a years Fully Comp at a slither over £2.5k and am an extremely happy chappy :D I would deffo recommend Adrian Flux to new car owners like myself! Has anyone had any other experiences with them tho?

No they sucked hard, quinn are cheap but no modifications, tesco seem pretty competitive.

Id beg to differ with that, we me and my car do! I did an online quote with them for me, 26, 8 years no claims. Wanting fully comp on my Calibra 2ltr, and they gave me £1400!!

Stayed with admiral for just a touch under £500 :/ Tesco suck imo :)

Might give this Adrian Flux a look tho, a penny saved is good imo!

Heard a lot of bad reports of Adrian Flux. Cheap insurance is great, until you need good customer service.

That's a fair comment, anyone actually had bad experiences with them?

Personally I havent, will have either been on here or the FTO owners club. Same with everything though, you only ever hear the bad stories...

So had I, but I use them. I've been on 3 cars with them now - no problem at all - great prices, excellent staff, good forms.

One car was standard, the other two were heavily modified and they understood and took recipt of all the mods, very comprehensive :)

They're running an offer for Alfa owners in association with alfaowner.com, if it's still going at renewal time in MAy, I'll take a look :)

I have just used Adrian Flux, my best quote was £500, 22male, 3years NCB, IAM and passed in 2002, Adrian Flux quoted £418, with DOC and a courtesy car, not bad at all! :D

Been insured with them for years, never had a problem.

Through 2 (non fault) accidents, a few house moves, always great on the phone and can't really complain.

Called today with a change of address, no problems (apart form premium going up, grr). Found it funny that I've moved from the main high street ina town parking a car a couple of roads away, to moving to a nice small cul de sac with car on the drive put it up by 18 quid lol. But the first bit of the postcode covers a wide area, and sadly some of that area must have higher claim rates, aw well.

Hmm, Adrian Flux. I send off my mod form. They acknowledge reciept. 6 months later I ring up to add more mods, and they have no record of my current ones, just that I had sent a form in. So I asked if I had had a claim, would I have been insured? No. So much for Adrian Flux then

Yes, they lost my ENTIRE insurance file with all the details and then gave me a couple of weeks to replace them all or they would cancel my insurance!

Took close to 3 months to sort.

Have they not heard of computers and backups?

You want to try Audi Insurance. They offered me a quote of £14000.02p and no I haven't typed too many 0's.

Just so long as they get that last 2pence on the quote. Wouldn't want to undercharge you would they!

I insured my modded 306 with them and it was written off, Adrian flux didn't give a monkeys, I had to deal with the company who held the insurance policy. Adrian Flux are just a dealer.

Didn't get any money back for my mods even though they were declared with Flux they forgot to mention that to the insurance company.

About 4 months later i get a renewal qoute from them for a car that was written off, bunch of cowboys IMHO.

Cheap qoutes, just don't crash your car.

I would say their quotes are good, but their customer service is average at best. The trouble I usually have with them is you call them, they say they will do something for you and then it never happens

It makes you wonder how their staff organise themselves, do they put down the phone and then just think 'actually I won't do that at all, chances are I won't speak to him again anyhow'

It does get frustrating as there are no end of helpful people come premium renewal date.
