hy guys,

Just put this new rig together, can you offer advice or tips on your experience or problems with these components?

What do you think???

thanks in advance!!

cpu: core i5 750 2.66 ghz

gpu: nvidia gtx 260 xfx

RAM: corsair dominator ddr3 4G 1600 mghz

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 iP55 Socket 1156

Case: Coolmaster HAF 922

PSU: OCZ 500 W ModXstream pro

Cooler: Arctic Cooling (AC-FRZ-64P) Freezer64 Pro

Keyboard: G15

Mouse: Razor Deathadder

Screen: Samsung Syncmaster 24 inch

core i5 750 is definately the way to go. best price/performance going atm.

that case/cooler combo should allow u to get to 3.6Ghz @ 60C which is about the sweet spot.

the gtx260 is almost at end of life with the next gen cards knocking on the door. Still a good card for sub £120 though, anymore and u may as well go for the 4890 which is superior in most titles

Ahhh.....you beat me to it.Get the cooler RJC suggested.Much better than the 64 pro and it is compatible with sk1156.

LOGITECH MICE !

Razers are **** cheap super light plastic that's only good to epeen with the lights they usually add -_-.

And I'd swap the GTX for something else, maybe get a 5770 for now and then if you need more power add another in crossfire later when you get cash?

Fanboy alert. The razer death adder is an excellent mouse for the price and has never let me down. I have played on a friends logitech and didnt seem that different to me, cant remember what model it was but I know that it was a good one. I do agree dont just go for looks go for price and performance.

If that GTX 260 is the Black Edition one from XFX then I'd say to get that as its better than the HD5770 and you won't need to upgrade it for at least 3 months and plus it overclocks pretty well.I have mine at 725/2456Mhz with 140GB/sec so that is a pretty good overclock over the stock Black Edition @ 680/2000Mhz with 110GB/sec.So I think that the XFX GTX 260 BE is a good choice.

thanks Ast3r that helps allitle

you say you i wont need to upgrade for at least 3 months! i was looking for kind of a long term GPU as i havnt got money to throw at this rig!

thanks

It will last longer than 3 months but I said that because I thought that you wanted DX 11.If you are ok with DX 10 then the GTX260 is an excellent choice.
