*pokes head around corner* Dont come in here much and this maybe a long shot. Im after a new camera, but nothing to advanced. Its for general use i.e. family photos.

Taking semi decent close ups would be an added bonus, its something that we have always needed to do but could never get a decent shot with my 10 year old Kodak 4 megapixel camera.
Would also like to be able to do short videos with it too. Its also got to be the small sized (not the really thin/small ones) camera not the great big ones.

Anyone get some advice on what i should look out for?

Im looking to spend £160.

The Canon SX210 is currently on a very good offer and with £30 cashback from Canon, it works out at just over your budget at £170. Might be worth a look, as it seems to fit the bill pretty well.

Google 'Canon PowerShot SX210 IS Digital Camera - Black' and it's one of the first results.

I noticed a lot of cameras have rechargable batteries. Are they fixed in or can they be changed for non recharagable?

Seems that canon offer ended on the 3nrd Nov.

Most of the ones can be changed, but unless they specify AA batteries or similar, then you can only change them with like for like.

The standard batteries in most of the Canon range can be picked up very cheaply if you buy non OEM.
