I'm looking to upgrade my card 256mb X1950 Pro.

Not sure what would be a decent card for me to upgrade to want to spend around £100.

I play L4D2 a lot games like that .

Wasn't sure if the Radeon HD 4870 Series was worth going for here :-http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18104639

Any advice would be great please i run a Q9950 .

Thanks.

Really so the 5770 are a lot better then?

lol just make sure it's compatible with your mobo unlike me who didn't check and now have £130 paper weight which as forced me to get a new system. Should be fine anyway just the 5770 don't work on the nforce 400 chipsets

Use less power and have dx11. Drivers are more mature on the 4870 though.

i was wondering myself when the drivers mature a little more on the 5770 if it will take a bigger lead on the 4870 as at the minute they are roughly the same performance. Altho a lot of people have reported much better minimum FPS on the 5770 which is much better for smoother gameplay

Apart from the VaporX (and the small o/c Powercolor), the others are reference designs. Take your pick of packaging and company.

Sapphire and Asus have the slightly quieter egg cooler on them if you prefer that. I run my 5770 on an Asus P5Q Deluxe so your board should be fine.
