Advice, please, on cooler and fan orientation

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have the rig in my sig. It is currently running at stock speed. Happy with that for now.

I got an Akasa venom cooler so I could overclock it some time in the future (E.g, when I pluck up the courage). However my temps when just web browsing are currently 36c. That seems a little high to me. Ambient room temperature is 20c.

Running prime95 for 20 minutes didn't push temps above 50c. That, to me, seems healthy. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I have one front case intake fan. Cpu fan is blowing across the cpu then directly towards a grill on the rear of the case. At present, I have no extraction fan. (But do intend to remedy that.)

Do these stock speed temps seem ok? Should I swap direction of the cooler airflow in some way?

Haven't tried gaming yet (lack of time) but expect temps to increase when the gpu starts doing some work.

Advice or comments will be appreciated.

Sounds fine to me. Load temps are the main thing to look for and 50C with no rear case fan seems decent. If you are sure that the Venom is blowing towards the back of your case then everything sounds good

In gaming you probably won't see cpu temps go as high as when you use prime as more stress would be on the gpu.

Thanks liquidex. I was a little concerned due to my previous core 2 duo achieving 21 (ish) degrees on virtually idle. I know lots have posted idle temps for overclocking these chips but I wasn't sure what to expect from a stock. That puts my mind at rest.
