Morning all,

This is a rant. Every morning I get a bus from Werrington to Newcastle-Under-Lyme, where my school is. The bus is meant to be there at 7:20, but normally gets there at 7:25 or later. I'm normally in school by 7:50. It's generally pretty crap. Yesterday however it didn't get to the bus stop till 7:35. Great start. It normally goes through Hanley, but yesterday decided to stop at Hanley bus station. Next thing I know we're sitting there for 25 minutes, **** knows why. So it finally decides to leave at 8:15 (yes it was the right bus) and I get to school at 8:40. Just an example of how useless it is.

So today, my alarm clock fails to go off for some reason (set for 6am). I end up getting out of bed at 7:05 and meant to be in the car by 7:20. Well I step outside the house at 7:22 and oh look the car has gone. My sister is at the same school - phoned and she says "We were going to miss the bus. Bye" - really sarcastic 'bye' as well, really peed me off. Yeah right, she was later to the car yesterday than I was today!

So I find myself stuck at home. Thing is, my mum doesn't work on Thursdays and so was perfectly able to drive me to school. But she's free all day damnit. "I have to take the dog to dog training!" - but she only left the house at 9:10 to leave - could have taken me to school when I asked and been back in time for that.

So I'm told 'Get another bus'. The one we normally get is the only one which goes straight through and I would have to get a connection at Hanley. Sorry but I've been there and done that too many times, fed up of it. I would accept this any other day because it's the only way but
a) my mum could have driven me to school and it wouldn't have been at all inconvenient for her
b) they shouldn't have even left me at home in the first place, as I said, my sister was later yesterday than I was today!

Long post I think but I just needed to vent somewhere. Really don't want to be missing school either, just means getting behind in work. Worst thing is my parents said they won't authorise my absence so school aren't going to be happy at all.

Anyone else hate busses, or stuck at home when they shouln't be/don't want to be?

null :(

If you really wanted to go to school you should have got the other bus. There aren't any excuses really.

Your subconscious human nature is willing you to miss school anyway :D

Fixed. It it was just one, I would have.

Oh and I did want to go school. Thing is, I'd have missed most of my Chemistry lesson if I'd gone in on the busses and that's the only lesson where we're learning stuff - the rest, I can and will be working on at home (revision for Physics exam tomorrow, and DT coursework).

Stop your whinging and just make sure you get to school on time. You never had any reasons for being late ..... just excuses.

What do you think I tried to do, miss school so I could stay at home? I honestly want to be at school.

Oh you mean aside from my alarm clock not working this morning and my mum leaving the house for the bus stop too early? There's little difference between a reason and an excuse in this context. There are such things as valid excuses. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define:excuse&meta=

Um next time the little "idiot" is late tell your dad or whatever to just leave or i'll be late. Hate when brothers and sisters manipulate parents. Next time your mum needs a favour......sorry but your busy studying(eating scrambled eggs of cheese on toast).

Your parents sound a bit crap tbh.
Not crap at all, just annoying at times.

Hate them, ive never used a bus thats been on time in ages, and when it comes its expensive to get where your going and is full of kids screaming, stinks of BO and regularly i cant get a seat.

God bless cars, they make life so much easier.

Ha I pay £1.15 to get to college by bus,it takes 40 minutes when i can be there in 15-20 on my bike  I would do it but would rather not stink when i get to college.

The good thing is we now have 3 companies using this one route compared to 1 company. So if you miss a bus your guaranteed one within a few minutes :D

If i missed my bus or one didnt arrive i would just re route myself or wait for the next bus, it depends how much you "dont" want to be stuck at home.

I'd be more than peeved if one of my parents buggered off without telling me, when they were meant to be giving me a lift.

That may have sounded a little harsh, but my rents wouldn't have left me in bed so I ended up missing the bus, and if I did they'd have given me a lift when they clearly had the time.
