agghhh, i'm getting the itch to get an imac 27" :(

That's a cracker.

It not only shows off the iMac's best feature, but also it's biggest potential weakness.

Thanks!
The reflection is from the window that's slightly further round to the right - with me sat in front of it, I get some reflection, but nowhere near what is shown in the picture. I was thinking about turning the desk around so the screen ends up backlit by the window - but I'm not sold on that yet

Also looks like you were falling over when you took the picture :D

Close - I fell over after taking it... :D

Mine got taken away for replacement on Thursday after getting a pink line on the screen, now stuck on the 13" MBP. Could take up to two weeks for a replacement BTO. :(

I have just packed my 5 day old 27" iMac i5 and have arranged to return it, after having discovered the yellowing issue. The colour of the bottom 1/3 of the screen was different to the top! As a photographer this isn't going to work for me. Have decided to replace it with the base Mac Pro model and a separate screen (none glossy).

It is a shame apart from this issue it was a joy to use. I am surprised this issue has been around for so long?

I hear the top left of the iMacs get *really* hot to touch. Anyone comment on this? In my electronics experience, hot = bad, thats what I was always taught.... Makes me wonder about the longevity if I were to get one....

It's just the design, there are fans in the iMac but a lot of it is passive. The heat from the machine itself plus the heat from the screen, a lot of it just vents passively out of the top of the machine so they do get quite warm.

It's not a problem :)
