As the title says really, is it worth upgrading from a Leadtek 6800GT to a 7800GT on my AGP motherboard?

Or should I save for a proper new PCI-Express setup?

thanks

Well for the price of the AGP Gainward 7800 GT, you can get a PCI-E 7800 GT, and a PCI-E motherboard to go with it, suppose it all depends what your current setup is. :)

Id go the PCI-E route though if your thinking about doing that.

Thanks, as I thought, might be best to wait and see what Longhorn does to the market, and how dual core develops. Interesting that you can get a PCI mobo with 7800GT for the same price! :O

My 6800GT struggles with Oblivion, but that's at 1680x1050 res, and I've heard the game's a bit sluggish anyway!

Yeah the Gainward 7800 GT is about £280 on AGP, where as you can get a PCI-E 7800 GT for about £180, which is the same card basically, just a different slot type obviously, so theres £100 for a decent motherboard, or you could get a 7900 GT on PCI-E for around £250, which is better than the 7800 GT, as its about the same as a 7800 GTX. :)

I don't really have the money to go for PCI-E yet - I'd need a new processor and stuff too so it's not really an option, but thanks anyway :)
