Building a new rig after a long time out from pc gaming. It’s ping going to be used for sim racing so I wasn’t too worried about looks, more performance and ability to host all the hardware.

decided on the p600s based on looking through the forums and finding a solid looking case which would be a decent size.

anyway, I’m now looking for a cooler for a 5800x I’ve got coming tomorrow. I was considering a big air cooler but then go reading about AIO systems which aren’t much more than a decent air cooler. It seems the artic freezer 2 is well regarded, but….are there any others and would then 280 model fit in this case ok?

help and advice more than welcome please.

I have this case and the 5800X processor. I'm using a NZXT X73 360mm mounted in the top of the case. I too use this for sim racing (Assetto Corsa Competizione, F1 22, some Forza 7). I cool it with 3 front mounted (intake) 3 radiator mounted (exhaust) and 1 rear (exhaust) 120mm Silent Wings fans. I have these all set at a constant 40% unless temps hit 80c at which point they move to 60%. In games I'm seeing a maximum of 60c in racing games and 68-70 in the new Warzone. This is running with a 0.075v undervolt, -15 CO and +200Mhz manual boost, so it occasionally ramps up to 5050 MHz.
Awesome, thanks for the reply.

I have looked at 360 models, the AIO units seem to be similar . The artic looks a bit pants but seems to perform well for the money.

I’m just worried about the fat rad fitting.

Must admit, I’ve watched a million (slight exaggeration) video reviews of AIO units this week and although some are better than Others, I do have a fear of a mass disaster with them. I’ve been looking at the black version of the noctua which looks loads nicer than brown/beige.

£110 for an air cooler is a hurt, but the deepcool assassin seems to be pretty good.

im still considering options…. I like the aesthetics of the AIO but air is safer in my mind.

I went for the case in the graphite grey. It’s going in the garage with a sim racing rig so didn’t want white and black would have been a chunk of black.

Not used to machines with such customisation with regards to thermal control.

I just bought a P600S and am looking at an AIO, likely the Artic Freezer II 420mm mounted at the front with the coolest air coming through it vs a 360mm at the top with the warm air from the GPU.

I currently have a Noctua D15 but the fan noise is an issue when my 5800x ramps up and there is no doubt it does not cool as well as an AIO especially over time as dust builds. I can't use a dual-fan setup either as my RAM is too high for the second fan.
Wow, you must have massive ram. Just put mine together yesterday and there appears to be plenty of room for my ram. The second fan is mounted a little higher up the heatsink but will still work.

i went away from an AIO. Not just cost, but I didn’t want to worry about something failing. I’ll see how it goes. I like the case tho
