I often see a stand in the departures lounge at Gatwick that has a really nice Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo etc and its some sort of competition. Basically its something like a "spot the ball" type thing but it costs £75 to enter:eek:
Has anyone ever entered one of these?

I see them all the time.

Significant outlay, tiny chance of winning. I've never entered and have never heard of anyone I know (or even friends of friends) winning.

I remember seeing a Ferrari in the departure lounge of Luton but never took much notice of what it was for.

I guess it was another of these competitions.

My colleagues friend won a Ferrari! I'd never bother though. I'd rather put £75 on the lottery. Either way its all gambling.

you probably have better odds of winning these than the lottery, best of the best they are called... but at the end of its your left with some exotic sports car that you'll probably not be able to afford to insure, run or garage.... so you'll sell it for a load of money and buy something else...

You have to do a spot the ball. Never seen them for £75 though, its normally much cheaper than that.

The catch - the ball isnt where the ball really is, its where an independant thinks it is. So, you randomly choose somewhere and hope that the independent also chooses that same spot!

My dad once entered one of these "Best of the Best" competitions, but it was at East Midlands airport. He didn't win of course... But entry was only £20 compared to the above mentioned £75...

If it's spot the ball and you have a spare couple of grand lying about. Buy loads of tickets and mark every single spot. That'll cost, what... £2/3000?

And you have to win then so you get a £100,000 car for a couple of G :)

Unless it's a fix.

Good idea! :D Can bet there is a rule stating you can only buy a set amount of tickets each go.

Id rather put £20 a week on lottery.

So could someone buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari for £100,000. Go into a town centre and say WIN THIS CAR! £50 a ticket. 100,000 people buy a ticket so you've made £5 million then give the car away to the winner. Obviously some people will tie so you'll have to stipulate that in the event of a tie, it'll go to round 2 for the people who tied.. and so on until you find a winner.

(Goes to the bank :p)
