Airport Extreme as repeater from BT business hub

Is it possible to have a AirPort Extreme operate as a wireless repeater without having to be connected to the main router physically?

If the BT Business Hub supports WDS I think it can, but a lot of devices don't. Remember it also halves your throughput as it can't receive and transmit at the same time.

Other option (which I'm assuming is unlikely) would be to run a cable from the hub to the Airport and use it as an access point. This is what I do with my Time Capsule -> Airport Express though not ideal for some I know.

I tried something like this on an AirPort Express. Worked, but the speed was awful.

I have an ADSL modem connected via CAT6 to an AEBS and use that as the access point without issue.

I know an Apple AirPort Express can repeat the AEBS signal, but not sure about the business hub.

Yeah it seems that if you want anything to be repeated you have to buy both apple products. Pretty awful really.
