Built my new rig into my eclipse. The wirings a bit messy but I'll sort that out soon, i had a bit of a problem when building so just wanted to get it working.

Nice build... what problems did you come across during your build M8...

Which the omega?.....I love it :D but it does have a certain 80's look to it. If you dont like the look then aviod tbh. Cooling is great but if your going be looking at the front hating then aviod!

Hi M8, got another Akasa Eclipse build at the weekend :D going for the Eclipse over the Omega as I am not too keen with doors on cases (Still a cool looking case mind) nice to see Akasa have kept the chassis design the same for all three models though... the front of the Eclipse has seen mixed comments on the bezel, and to be completely honest every case I have seen has some flaw in design and presentation, but again its down to personal taste. Look forward to your pics, good luck with your build M8.... :)

I'd normally agree completely.

But IMO it's different with the Omega (and Mirage for that matter) as the power and reset buttons are accessable with the door both open and closed.

That's my only gripe with doored cases, the fact you have to open it to turn it on.

As stated its just down to personal taste, all the Eclipse range..Omega/Mirages are excellent cases.. the only real drawback with the design of all of them, Eclipse included, is when you are cleaning the front filter, both the case side panels have to come off before you can release the front bezel to get to the filter guard/filter foam to clean, with the doored design I found with the Mirage the front bezel can't be released completely as the MB wires are attached to the door panel, where the Eclipse the bezel can be removed completely (I don't know if this is the same on the Omega as I haven't owned one yet) on the maint side I just find the Eclipse more user friendly....:)

That's fair enough, I wasn't argueing with your opinion, just thought I'd offer mine. :)

The Omega is on the list of possibles for my next case, aswell as about 3 others lol.

I've also never been keen of fans on side panels due to vibration resonance but if I was to get one I have a plan which should remove that posibility (think paxmate but a lot more OTT :D).

All in all, it's a VERY nice case. In my heart it would be a choice between the Omega and a Hiper Osiris. Very hard to choose though. :(

The Hiper Osiris looks very nice.. do they do a windowed or solid side panel for this case, I have found mesh panels do attract a lot of dust... the Omega would have the edge on a purchase between these good cases.. ;)

The side panel is mesh with an acrylic window behind it, so you get the look but without the duct collecting drawback. Also better for stopping EMI compared to normal windows.

In terms of features (removeable m/b tray, e-atx support etc) the Omega would clinch it, but it's also more than £40 over the Osiris so it's proving a difficult choice.

By the look of this it could be a flip of a coin decision...:D

I'll get the apologies out of the way first... sorry if the bits on the top of the case, and the Dell Poweredge in the background somewhat ruin the photos (which aren't the best of quality I might add). The last photo in the set will give you an idea of the hell I'm going thru having 4 white 120mm Sharkoon SE fans (that's my kitchen).

The other thing you'll notice is the slightly suspect cabling - using the fan-side for extra air, so I've concentrated on making as clean a path as possible for the 3 incoming fans and keeping the "over" cables as kink-free as possible. Got it to 3600GHz, idleing at RealTemp 31C and torturing at 44C.

The 4th photo is the view thru the KamaBay at the top.

Is the last photo your new computer room in progress....:D

Hehe - I did think about putting a couple of RJ45 points in, and the new hole thru the roof where the old chimney was might prove useful for some cool air. :D

Have to admit it's been a right nightmare tho - soot, concrete dust and tomorrow they're skimming the walls and tiling the floor. Tested out another 4GB of RAM the other night and within half an hour, two filters were virtually blocked and the other two had black leading edges.

Other than that tho, it's been a real joy to build with the case tho - big enough to move around in, small enough to rotate the air, and just to right size to stop me from over-filling it with gadgets and tat.

Got a lot to thank you and the other on here for, as it was this thread that swung me to an Eclipse. *bows*

Really nice build M8...;) I like all the diffrent LED's you have... whats the CPU cooler, love the copper look....;)

Thanks for the compliment - still got a bit more work to do, but it's getting there slowly. :)

Got an ASUS Silent Knight II on the CPU - think they do two flavours (Copper and Aluminium). Think it's had fairly mixed reviews in terms of cost vs cooling, but I fancied something that didn't quite look the same as the standard towers of flat fins, especially as it's only cooling a Duo and not a Quad. Suppose that's the good thing about the Duo, in that you can go for a bit more form and a little less function.

I'll throw another couple of photos up showing the internals/monitors/stats once the kitchen recovers.

Look forward to pictures... ;)
