Is that BFG 02 320/640MB, nice rig...markyb said:Heres mine, some suttle changes this time.
-Just been given a clean
-Replaced yellow IDE cable for a black Akasa one.
-Bunched the cables together using Akasa cable tie things....
-Replaced GeIL ram with Crucial Ballistix 2Gb PC2-8500C5.
-BFG 8800GTS OC2
-XFi Gamer Sound Card
Now running at 3.3Ghz
Same Card As Mine, good stop gap until DX10 games become available, will be upgrading mine after summer mabey 8900's will be out by then or the ultras come down in price, I am very suprised on how fast this card is, thrown every game at it, and cranked up the graphic settings and dosen't even break a sweat, the BFG 8800GTS OC2 320MB is excellent value for money..markyb said:Yeh, BFG 8800 GTS OC2 320mb.
Very impressed with it. Overclocks well, although probably wished now i'd waited a week later for the 640mb Leadtek.
Thanks buddy
What temp diffrences with fan variants.Buckster said:did some more experimenting
bizarely I get much better airflow with the following
Front bottom - no fan
Front top - Kama Scythe with 60 cfm Noiseblocker fan in
Side - Scythe fan outlet
Back - 60 cfm Noiseblocker fan out
than
Front bottom - Akasa fan in
Front top - Kama Scythe with noiseblocker in
Side - Scythe fan outlet
Back - 60 cfm Noiseblocker fan out
or
Front bottom - Akasa fan in
Front top - Kama Scythe with noiseblocker in
Side - Scythe fan in
Back - 60 cfm Noiseblocker fan out
Bizarre - but seems to prove that cases really do like "negative" pressure inside for best cooling.
Mark.

Yes tried the TJ09, was very dissapointed with the case layout, for one example, I wanted to simply replace the internal centre factory fan for an Akasa LED fan, the centre case fan housing was a nightmare to remove, with all the screws in un-excessable reach when components are installed into the case, not a good design at all, can't imagine if you wanted to get to the fan filter to clean it, The Akasa's design seems flawless, all panels removable through-out, bay cages removable, excellent cooling, very high build quality, all in all a builders dream, the only limitation the Akasa has is the owners imagination, you only have to look at this thread to see the fantastic builds and mods this case has offered.....Flanno said:BFG, about 6 months ago I got a mate to do just this.
To be honest it only made 3-4 degrees difference to case temps at the time. And I think this is because the fan sits very high on front of the psu area and not closer to the cpu area as on the tj09.
Incidentally did you have a tj09 and move to the eclipse ? wondering why ?
Can you fit a 120mm fan to these coolers.markyb said:Its pretty big but more than enough room around it to work with. It requires a back plate which you have to remove the motherboard to fit.
Great cooler tho, 32c idle / 48c load E6300 @ 3.22Ghz @ 1.45v
^^ Photo of the Tuniq tower fitting in my rig.
Where did you get memory coolers from...cheers.lay-z-boy said:
Flanno said:Yes had both, and think the Akasa is better value for money allright.
Some people though have complained about the front fan airflow being blocked by drives, but that's easily fixed with the sidepanel. Would definitely consider the Akasa again if building a new rig.
Thank you M8lay-z-boy said:
Exactly...Buckster said:isn't the CPU fan competing against the PSU fan too ?
PSU fan wants to draw the air up ...
CPU fan wants to draw the air down ..
not ideal !
Have you got the backing plates off for any reason, not good if you want to keep the dust out, would recommend blanking any extra banks out..Zen said:I guessed its time to post mine Have this case for so long, never bothered posting it ... *lazy*
Never good at cable management, at least I have tried :S
Any way of making my cables more tidy?
